signed

Consumer Protections for Artificial Intelligence Interactions

Plain-English Summary

AI-generated

HB 25-1008, also known as the "Consumer Protections for Artificial Intelligence Interactions," is a bill that requires companies using artificial intelligence (AI) systems in Colorado to clearly inform consumers when they are interacting with AI rather than a human. It also mandates these companies to follow consumer protection laws and anti-discrimination laws. If a company violates these rules, the state attorney general can take legal action against them. Since this bill has been signed into law, it means that businesses operating in Colorado must now comply with these new requirements for using AI systems.
